Rate Cards
A rate card is a document that contains prices and descriptions for certain advert placement options that are available in the media. This is an example of a BBC rate card:
.
This is usually the maximum price that someone may pay, just like the rack rate at a hotel. Most advertising buyers will pay a lot less than this, getting discounts due to volume, a desire to sell unused space, or other factors.
Advertisers' Information Packs
These packs provide rate cards, insertion dates and publication dates, all information you need to plan your advert and market it. They are issued by the company organisation commissioning the advert. It is also known as a media pack.
Advertising Research Agencies
Specialized market research companies provide studies and surveys about broadcast media, including television programming, TV ads, TV networks and TV ratings. They are used to inform the advertising professionals about customers comments about the product or service. This information can then be used to target a certain demographic using a specific technique.
